They lost to Chelsea in their last home game in the Champions League and the defeat ended their two-match unbeaten run as the hosts.
Monchi, Sevilla’s sporting director, has been full of praise for Dortmund, but he maintained confidence in his charges.
Julen Lopetegui, the Sevilla manager, is wary of Dortmund and revealed what they need to do in order to win the tie.
“My assessment is that we play against a great rival, one of the historic teams in Germany and Europe, with a very high-level squad," Lopetegui said.
"A team that can play with a five or four backline, and they have very physical and technical players and it is a very fast team. They are going to force us to do an extraordinary job."
Meanwhile, Dortmund advanced to the Round of 16 after finishing at the top of Group F ahead of Italian club Lazio.
The German giants are unbeaten in their last five matches in this competition having recorded four wins and one draw.
Dortmund are also unbeaten in their last two games on the road in the Champions League having registered two consecutive victories.
