As one of the best drivers at the recent Las Vegas Grand Prix, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc will be hoping to emulate last week’s performance in the upcoming Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

After finishing second behind the inevitable Max Verstappen, Leclerc entertained supporters in the streets of Las Vegas Last week.

The Monacan driver led the race on two occasions; however, it was his final overtake on Sergio Perez on the last lap that had social media abuzz after the 50 lap affair.

In tailing the Mexican driver until the last lap, Leclerc was at his daring best and overtook the Red Bull Racing driver after the final turn.

Leclerc is yet to win a race on the 2023 calendar and could look to the Abu Dhabi race to do so. In last year’s race at Yas Island, Leclerc could only manage a second-placed finish behind Verstappen.

The Ferrari star has built a reputation for performing well enough during qualifiers before struggling to keep up with the pace set by the two Red Bull Drivers on race day.

Reflecting on his performance in Las Vegas, Leclerc felt that the Ferrari team did well to troubleshoot after a slow start to the weekend.

“I think we needed it. The weekend didn’t start the way it had to start,” Leclerc said after the race.

“But I’m so happy that it ended that way. Such an incredible sport and I think today, I mean there was no better race for the first one the Vegas.

“The energy around the city is incredible and just really happy and at least I enjoyed today.”
