The San Antonio Spurs and the Boston Celtics will have a showdown in Texas when they meet in an
NBA Regular Season game at the AT&T Center in San Antonio on the morning of Saturday 27 November 2021. Tip-off is at 01:30.
The Spurs are floundering in the lower reaches of the Western Conference, with this past weekend seeing them beaten 115-90 by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Despite the defeat, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich still found time to praise Dejounte Murray.
“We haven’t exactly amazed the world, but if we didn’t have him we would be in big trouble,” Popovich said. “He’s looking for other teammates to join him in playing as well as he is.”

Murray meanwhile, wants to see more fire from his fellow players: “We had probably a couple of minutes where we competed, but other than that, we didn’t compete. They were physical, pushing guys around, getting fouls. You don’t want to come out and hurt guys with flagrants, but they were just physical and competing. On our end, we didn’t do either.”
The Celtics, meanwhile, have fared only a little better in the Eastern Conference, though this past weekend saw them lay down a marker with an impressive 130-108 win over the Los Angeles Lakers – in arguably the greatest rivalry that exists in the NBA – featuring 37 points from Jayson Tatum.
"We stress making quick decisions," Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka said. "When he [Tatum] holds it, the crowds get to him. He was extremely aggressive."

In head-to-head stats, the Spurs and the Celtics have met in 97 Regular Season games since 1976-76, with San Antonio claiming 56 wins compared to 41 for Boston. The teams’ last Regular Season meeting was in April 2021, with the Celtic winning an overtime thriller 143-140 thanks to an amazing 60-point haul from Jayson Tatum.
