2022 French Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton will be keen to emulate Nigel Mansell and Jackie Stewart who are the only British drivers to have won the
French Grand Prix three or more times.
The Mercedes driver secured a podium finish at last year's French Grand Prix as he finished second having won this race in 2018 and 2019.
Hamilton, who has been consistent in the last few races in the 2022 season, finished third at the Austrian Grand Prix on July 10 - making it three successive third-place finishes this term.

With 20 laps remaining and chasing down Max Verstappen for a podium finish, Hamilton received a black and white warning flag telling him to stop exceeding track limits and ultimately finished third at the Austrian Grand Prix.
The race was won by Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, while Verstappen of Red Bull Racing-RBPT finished second - beating Hamilton to the finishing line.
Looking at the 2022 Drivers' Championship standings, Verstappen remains at the top and he is followed by Leclerc and his Red Bull Racing teammate Sergio Perez respectively.
Hamilton is still placed on the standings sixth despite having clinched a third consecutive podium finished and he will be hoping to win the French Grand Prix for the third time.

"I gave it everything today! I was chasing, trying to get those Ferraris, but congratulations to Carlos [Sainz Jr]. They were just too quick today for us and in the end, I was in amongst that battle with Checo [Sergio Perez]. Those guys were just too quick on the straights for me today," Hamilton said after the Austrian Grand Prix.
"But I’m so, so grateful for all the hard work the team did to get an upgrade here, we’ve made a step closer to them, so we’ve got to keep pushing. We lost a little bit of time in the pit stop, and then I was chasing, and chasing, and chasing, but the pace was great on both sets of tyres and then at the end there it was just a little bit difficult.
"Once you get a Red Bull behind, they’re so fast on the straights. We’ve got some improvements to make but this is a huge bonus for us to be on the podium. I’m glad everyone was safe from that big crash at the beginning of the day. Thank you to everybody, we’re going to continue to push."
Red Bull Racing-RBPT are placed at the top of the Constructors' Championship standings and they are followed by Ferrari and Mercedes respectively.
