What to know about Ludvig Aberg
The 24-year-old Swedish golfer, who only turned professional this year, has registered three tournament wins in his career: the Omega European Masters in September, as well as the Swedish Golf Tour’s Katrineholm Open and Barseback Resort Masters (both as an amateur in 2020).

Aberg’s brilliance as a rookie in the Ryder Cup – where he registered a 2-2-0 record and helped team Europe reclaim the title – is still the ‘talk of the town’ in European golf circles.
He was last in PGA Tour action at the World Wide Technology Championship earlier this month, where he shot 269 (-19) to finish tied for 10th. Aberg is listed 53rd on the Official World Golf Ranking as of this past weekend.
Why Aberg could win the RSM Classic
The Swede has been in superb form since turning professional earlier this year, and has even drawn comparisons to Tiger Woods, who made his pro bow in September 1996 and quickly established himself as the dominant force in the sport.
Aberg may not quite hit those heights just yet, but he has the talent, momentum and confidence to be a frontrunner at the RSM Classic.

Aberg has expressed disbelief at his meteoric rise in the sport of golf:
“If someone asked me that a couple of months ago, obviously, I would not have believed them,” the Swede explained.
“I like to think that I prepare well for each event. I like to have fun on the golf course and, you know, whenever Thursday comes around I like to be ready. But, you know, to me that’s nothing that I can control; it’s outside of my control. What I can do is prepare and play as well as I can and then see where that takes me.”
