The Atlanta Hawks will look to get the better of the Miami Heat when the teams meet in their 2021-22 NBA Pre-Season game, set for the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on the morning of Friday 15 October 2021. Tip-off is at 02:00.
The Hawks have had mixed results in Pre-Season, suffering defeats to the Heat (heavy) and Cleveland Cavaliers (narrow), before beating the Memphis Grizzlies this past weekend. Atlanta have a gifted team, with Trae Young set to be their standard bearer heading into the Regular Season next week.

“He was amazing to me; I ain’t gonna lie,” Hawks forward De’Andre Hunter said of Young. “So I can’t imagine what he was doing for y’all, because I see him every day.”
“You can analyse him all day long,” Hawks assistant general manager Landry Fields added. “Once he steps on the court, all that kind of goes out the window a little bit.”

The Heat, meanwhile, have looked one of the most potent teams ahead of the new season, putting in impressive performances to underline their ambition of competing for the championship. Star man Jimmy Butlers aid that his side is ready to take on Milwaukee and the other powerhouses of the Eastern Conference, including the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets, amongst others.
"We're not running from anybody," said Butler. "We never will, we never have, and there's no way around it. You have to go through each and every one of these teams. The Bucks being one, the Nets being one, Philly being one... We know that, and we're ready to compete."
In head-to-head stats, the Hawks and the Heat have met in 138 Regular Season and Playoff games since 1988-89, with Miami claiming 75 wins compared to 63 for Atlanta. The teams’ last meeting was in April 2021, with the Hawks winning 118-103 in a home Regular Season game.
