Germany will look for revenge over North Macedonia when the teams meet in a 2022 World Cup Qualifying Group J match, set for the Tose Proeski Arena in Skopje on the evening of Monday 11 October 2021. Kick-off is at 18:45.
Germany are top of Group J after collecting 15 from a possible 18 points, though those three ‘missing’ points stem from a shock 2-1 home loss at the hands of North Macedonia – who are fourth on the log with nine points – back in March, when goals from Goran Pandev and Elif Elmas took the minnows to victory.

Before Germany can seek revenge, they will first face Romania in Hamburg on Friday 8 October (with North Macedonia away to Liechtenstein on the same day) and look to continue the form they showed in September’s block of fixtures, which saw them register 2-0, 6-0 and 4-0 wins over Liechtenstein, Armenia and Iceland respectively.
“We’re not at 100 percent yet, but I can’t wait for that. The guys implement what we imagine,” said Germany coach Hansi Flick, who oversaw a drastic upturn in form but is still pushing for more. “The final pass. The conviction that you want to make the goal. The chip balls often arrived, but then the cross pass didn’t. We have to work on that.”

North Macedonia’s September results saw them record three draws: 0-0 at home to Armenia, 2-2 in Iceland and 0-0 at home to Romania. A path to a first World Cup qualification remains alive for the Lavovi, but they may need to complete a double over Germany to have a real chance of finishing as runners-up behind Der Mannschaft.
In head-to-head stats, North Macedonia and Germany have met in just one previous match, which was the above-mentioned reverse fixture in this Group J and saw the visitors win 2-1 in Duisburg back in March 2021.
