Big dogs dumped out of UEFA Champions League

Quarterfinal, second leg results, Wednesday 19 April:
Barcelona 0-0 Juventus - Juventus won 3-0 on aggregate Monaco 3-1 Borussia Dortmund - Monaco won 6-3 on aggregate
The semifinal line-up for the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League is complete, with Monaco and Juventus joining the Madrid pair of Real and Atletico in the final four.

Monaco are the real surprise package in the quartet, with the Ligue 1 side defeating German giants Borussia Dortmund 3-1 at the Stade Louis II on Wednesday night. Added to a 3-2 away win in the first leg, Leonardo Jardim’s side won the tie 6-3.
Monaco’s home victory was inspired by another goal from teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe, while Radamel Falcao and Valere Germain also got their names on the score sheet.

Les Monégasques are the outsiders of the remaining teams in the competition, but you can be sure that none of the other three teams will fancy drawing them in the semifinals, such is the confidence and momentum they carry with them.

From the unstoppable force to the immovable object: Juventus showed their class and European pedigree by playing out a goalless draw at the Camp Nou against Barcelona to win their tie 3-0 on aggregate.
The Catalans were hoping for another stunning comeback, as they produced in the previous round against Paris-Saint Germain, but the ‘Old Lady’ was wise to their intentions and simply locked the hosts out with a defensive display characterised as much by discipline as determination.
Max Allegri’s side may not have the attacking ferocity of Monaco or the panache and class of Real Madrid, but like Atletico they are brilliant at figuring out a way to win - and incredibly tough to break down.
