Marc Marquez will be hoping to win the
British MotoGP for the second time in his illustrious career which started in 2008.

The Ducati Gresini Racing MotoGP rider came close to winning the most recent event in the 2024 calendar which was the German MotoGP on 7 July.
Marquez started in the 13th grind and he went on finish second, and also finished sixth in the sprint event which saw him collect 24 points from the event.
MotoGP title ambitions
The former Honda rider remains third on the 2024 MotoGP Riders' standings having accumulated 166 points from nine races.
Marquez is 46 points behind second-placed Jorge Martin of Ducati Prima Pramac Racing and 56 points behind leader Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati Lenovo Team.
Why Marquez could win the 2024 British MotoGP
Marquez has enjoyed some success at the Silverstone Circuit - winning the British MotoGP in 2014 after being crowned champion at the 125cc event in 2010.
The eight-time Grand Prix World Championship winner has secured three runner-up spots this season and he will be targeting his maiden win of the campaign this weekend.
What did he say?
“Today’s result feels as good as a race win. To be on the podium with Alex is something incredible that may have never happened, but here we are," Marquez said after the 2-24 German MotoGP.
"It’s been a very challenging weekend which we saved with a great comeback – and the feeling is almost impossible to explain. The holidays will be good ones thanks to this ‘double’.
"I was feeling better today, and we gave it a try, but in order to battle for the win we needed a different weekend. We’re still happy as it is.”
